It’s about to be November and my publicist (ahem, myself) is reminding me to be sure to post on some major moments of the last few months!
I was raised southern, female and baptist, so promoting yourself is not always natural, but I’m working on it. I have to be sure to acknowledge the amazing accomplishment to have my company, Studio Social, featured in the 2011 Power Issue of Essence Magazine (pg 138), with none other than First Lady Michelle Obama on the cover!
I first saw the feature when they gave out the magazine at fashion week, and was super excited. It was also a true testament to giving to others and watching it return ten-fold, as one of my friends recommended me for the feature and I had recommended her for the job there. Karma is so real.
You can also catch me in the November issue of Ebony (pg 71), with a gorgeous and pregnant Nia Long on the cover. I am featured in a roundup of the country’s top Black love coaches on how our clients have responded to open marriages. Along with tweets and texts from friends who saw me, I got a few emails from people who felt strongly about open marriage. Means a lot for someone to take the time to look you up and reply!
