I opened up on my own missteps while dating in college and additional research on the HBCU dating scene for the Huffington Post. It led to a call from the Jesse Lee Peterson radio show to come on the show and discuss the dating scene for young people. He’s a Black conservative who speaks at Tea Party conventions and sees the majority of Blacks who voted for Obama as racist. Fear had me say yes, than no, then yes again to being interviewed by someone who’s views I was at odds with. But the chance to possibly share a nugget with his listeners helped me push through. It ended up being a good dialogue – even as he called Halle Berry Godless for having a baby outside of marriage – and a motivator to know what you are talking about and stand strong for your beliefs.

Here’s the radio interview> (I am introduced around the 2:50 mark)
